SMS Communication, Consent, & Messaging Terms

As You Wish Midwifery / Desert Bloom Birth Center uses text messaging (SMS) solely as a non-marketing communication tool to support patient care, client communication, and practice operations. Text messaging is never used for advertising, solicitation, or promotional campaigns.

Types of SMS Messages

Clients who opt in may receive text messages related to:

• Appointment reminders, confirmations, and scheduling updates
• Prenatal, postpartum, and newborn care coordination
• Time-sensitive clinical communications (including labor status updates and urgent care instructions)
• Lab result notifications with instructions to contact the office
• Administrative communications related to forms, billing, required documentation, or practice updates

Opt-In & Consent

Clients provide express consent to receive SMS messages by:

• Signing intake, consent, or service agreements that include SMS authorization
• Providing a mobile phone number and agreeing to receive text communication
• Initiating communication with our practice via text message

Consent to receive SMS messages is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on client needs, stage of care, and individual circumstances. Clients may receive anywhere from 0 to 15 messages per week during active prenatal, birth, or postpartum care.

Opt-Out Instructions

Clients may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message.

Once STOP is received, no further messages will be sent unless the client re-initiates communication or re-consents.

Help Instructions

Clients may reply HELP at any time to receive assistance or may contact our office directly for support.

Fees & Carrier Disclosures

Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan. As You Wish Midwifery / Desert Bloom Birth Center is not responsible for any SMS or data charges incurred.

No Condition of Care

SMS consent is not a condition of receiving care or services. Clients may receive care even if they choose not to participate in SMS communication.

Privacy & Data Use

We respect client privacy and confidentiality. SMS communications may contain personal or health-related information and are handled in accordance with applicable privacy and healthcare regulations.

Information Sharing 

We do not sell, rent, share or disclose mobile numbers or SMS consent to third parties or affiliated for marketing or promotional purposes under any circumstances.

Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information used in SMS communications. 

No mobile opt-in or text message consent will be shared with any third party companies.
